Roof replacement across North Carolina
When a roof is past saving, we tear it off down to the decking, fix what's underneath and put a new roof on. You get the price before we start, and the family that runs Excel is the one you talk to.
When replacement makes more sense than repair
Most asphalt roofs in North Carolina give 20 to 25 years before they start losing granules, curling and leaking in more than one place. A single leak can usually be repaired. When the shingles are brittle across the whole roof, or you're patching the same areas every storm season, a replacement usually costs less over the next ten years than the repairs would.
We'll get on the roof and tell you which side of that line you're on. If a repair will carry you a few more years, we'll say so.
What a replacement includes
- Tear-off of the old shingles and underlayment
- Inspection of the decking, with rotted boards replaced
- New underlayment, drip edge and flashing at walls, chimneys and valleys
- New shingles or metal, with ridge vents where the attic needs them
- Haul-off of the old material
Shingle or metal?
Most homes in North Carolina get architectural asphalt shingles, and we install them in a range of colors. Metal costs more up front and lasts longer, which makes sense if you plan to stay in the house. We can price both so you can compare.
Paying for it
A new roof is a big expense, so we offer financing. Ask about current offers when you call, and we'll go over the numbers with the estimate.
